Sports and remedial massage attempts to locate the source of the problem and uses a range of techniques to stretch, relax and strengthen muscles. Sports and remedial massage use techniques that are designed to alleviate the tension and stress that builds up in the body during physical activity or from everyday stresses. By increasing flexibility, sports massage can be helpful in injury prevention.
Treatment is tailored to your physique and sensitivity and our massage therapist will ask for feedback on how a technique feels to ensure you get the most out of your massage.
Sports massage focuses on the treatment of the muscles and soft tissues.
Chiropractic treatment involves the use of the hands to make often gentle, specific adjustments (also called spinal manipulation). As well as spinal manipulation, chiropractors may also include work to loosen and stretch tight muscles.
A chiropractor is trained to assess and diagnose your condition and formulate a treatment plan as well as perform the treatment. So there is some overlap but essentially, seeing a chiropractor is much more in depth than having sports massage and requires more clinical expertise.
- 30 Minute Sports Massage
- Perfect if you are used to regular sports massage. If you are new to the clinic then we would recommend a one hour session for your first visit as the treatment time will include a brief discussion about any medical conditions, injuries and lifestyle factors.
- 60 Minute Sports Massage
- Recommended if you are a new patient to the clinic. Experience tells us that if we understand what you are looking for from the outset then you will gain more benefit from treatment. It is also perfect if you just enjoy a longer treatment or whole body treatment.
