If you are unable to have a face to face contact with our chiropractors then a virtual chiropractor appointment is perfect. It is simply a video consultation between you and the chiropractor.
“Due to the Covid-19 lockdown I had an online appointment with Alison today, which I found really useful. Alison was able to offer me advice on how to release stiffness in my back and manage pain points in my back. I thoroughly recommend an online session to others!”
Video consultations have been shown to be extremely effective for treating back pain and neck pain. It is simply not true that treatment MUST be hands on.
After booking your virtual chiropractor appointment we will send you a confirmation email. The email contains a link. When the time comes for your appointment, you just click on the link and there you go. No need to download anything.
Simply talking (and listening) to patients describe their symptoms is often enough to tell you what the problem is.
We can then ask you to perform certain movements to find out what makes the pain better or worse. It is possible to do the vast majority of tests we would normally do “hands-on” by asking you to move in certain ways.
How can you treat me if it is not hands on?
Do not think about seeing a chiropractor as just a hands on treatment experience. As Chiropractors, we possess a wealth of other skills and expertise that can help get you out of pain.
Firstly, we give you a diagnosis or discuss with you the most likely cause for you problems. Next we give you advice on what you should and should not be doing so that you recover as quickly as possible.
Then it is time to work on specific exercises that either (1) increase mobility in and/or (2) build strength. The aim is to improve your movements so you remain healthy. Once again, this can all be done successfully via video link.
Do virtual appointments work?
Video and telephone consultations are being used increasingly by Physiotherapists and GP practices. They use will become more widespread beyond the current Covid-19 restrictions so I’d say embrace it!
Virtual chiropractor consultations have numerous advantages. There is the added convenience of not needing to take time away from work or childcare.
A recent study surveyed patients about their experience of video consultations and 94%-99% reported being “very satisfied” with all attributes.
What equipment do I need and what should I wear?
You just need a forward facing camera. So a smartphone or your computer should be perfectly okay. It is advisable to wear loose fitting clothing and have enough space to perform some simple movements.
What is the cost of a virtual chiropractor appointment?
Initial consultation cost is £50 (50 minutes). A follow up appointment is £25 (25 minutes). See our pricing.
